Have a question about Home Broadband from Plusnet or purchasing Home Broadband with Incahoot?
Please see below for answers to your questions.
Your broadband will always try to connect at the highest possible speed available on your telephone line, which is why we refer to our broadband services as 'Up to' a certain speed.
Plusnet’s broadband technology is capable of up to 8Mb speeds, what you'll actually get is determined by:
Plusnet Broadband speed is described as up to 8Mb because your actual download speeds will vary depending on where you live. Plusnet will give you a speed estimate when you sign up.
This really depends on your contract terms. The deal is for new customers however if you selected the ‘no contract’ option when you initially joined Plusnet, you should be able to cancel your existing contract and sign up again through Incahoot. You will also be able to keep your Plusnet email address although this will cost an additional £1.00 per month and will need to be arranged with Plusnet directly.
If you are still in contract with Plusnet or another provider regrettably you will have to wait until this has completed before you can sign up through Incahoot.
If you've already got a modem or router from another broadband service then this might work with Plusnet broadband - but check first. Some broadband providers lock their routers so you can't use them with another provider's service. If you're unsure about your own hardware you should check with your current broadband provider.
However, when you sign up for Plusnet broadband you can choose a free new 1-port wired or 4-port wireless router if you want to.
You'll need:
We can send you a compatible router (with two microfilters) for free or you can use your own. Some routers from other providers may be locked to prevent them from working with other services.
Your computer needs:
Compatible Operating systems
Compatible connection ports
